2 Sam 7:1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies; 2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

King David had a great house for himself. He wanted to build an even greater one for Jehovah. Isn’t that man’s desire today – as honorable as it seems, it can be a great curse to God’s people.

We want something we can make, build by our own hands, something beautiful and acceptable to God and the people. That is how denominations get started, they begin with an idea that sounds good, seems spiritual and of great service to God. Even with the right motive and objective, it could mean very little in God’s view. He will look at it as a curse if it does not perfectly follow His purpose and plan in heaven.

All things on this earth are earthly and temporal, given to us as gifts, to serve only a period of natural time. As Christian’s our hope should not be in that which will soon pass away, but in that which is eternal in the heavens.

The great God of heaven was willing to live behind curtains, in a tent made from badger skins, which spoke of that which is perfect in heaven.

QUOTE: “But let us purpose in our heart, today, that in commemoration and waiting for that Tabernacle to come, that we will so characterize ourself by His Spirit, that we will worship in this place as if we were in that other Place, waiting for that Place to come.”  63-0317M — God Hiding Himself In Simplicity, Then Revealing Himself In The Same
