Everyone has a certain “bend” in life. And because of that we can believe we are right or at least more balanced than others when we are not. If we really examined this, we would find out, what we believe as “truth” could be our own traditions produced by our human nature and upbringing.
THE MEANING OF “BEND”
The word “bend” is an old English word that references our human nature. A person’s natural inclination, or inner learning, and is the direction our character naturally goes.
We all came here with a certain “bend” something we were born with and develop through life; the way we were raised, where we lived, the type of environment we grew up around, including the home and family we lived with. We have personality traits that have moved down through the genes of our parents, and grandparents, the combining of which makes us all different. It is this that causes us to do, think and act as we do naturally almost without effort.
“I AM THE WAY I AM”
I have heard many people say, “that is just me, the way that I am and can’t help it!” However, that natural “bend” could be destructive. What we were born with is not always right and is the old nature influencing what we do and believe. That is why we must have a new nature or a change take place that allows us to manifest the gene of our real lineage from above. That is to be born again, which does not come naturally, but spiritually.
A HEAVENLY “BEND”
It is then you realized your true lineage originates in heaven, in the eternities with our Heavenly Father and we begin to learn to take on that heavenly nature.
By this we can then have the correct belief in God and His Word regardless of what our natural “bend” has been. Therefore, let us be as Paul wrote in his Epistle to the Philippian church – “Let this mind be you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5).”
We were born in sin, with a mind to do evil, being by nature the children of wrath (Ephesians 2:3). May God help us to always be a partaker of God’s Nature. Peter wrote that it is by His power we can “be partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:3-4). May that power be our Spiritual “bend” in what we except and believe in this most descriptive age of all ages.
MAKE SURE OF THIS!
We are not right and more balanced than others because we think we are, but because we have His mind, His nature, and His LIFE (could I say God’s “bend” without being sacrilegious?).
Yes, we all have a “bend” and always will, but in God’s hands it can be molded into the real you for our true purpose in this life which we now live. Don’t let your natural “bend” shape your belief in God wrongly but let God shape your natural “bend” into His Divine Nature by His power.
