ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS – Pastor Bill Ivy – TUESDAY – July 28, 2020
Enoch walked with God. He was the seventh from Adam a type of the raptured church. He did not walk a day, a week, or even a month – the Bible says he walked with God for three hundred years!
WHAT IS IT TO WALK WITH GOD?
To walk with God is to fellowship and have constant communion with Him. To walk with God is to have the same nature and to allow him to do most of the talking and all of the leading. He will always lead you in the right way.
WE MUST HAVE A TESTIMONY OF THAT WALK
Speaking of Enoch; Heb 11:5 “…before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”
I can look back over my life and testify – it was Him that led me as a boy in school and at play. It was Him that led me as a teenager and a young man. It was Him that led when it was time to find a wife. It was Him that led me as I raised my children, and watched them grow to adulthood. He is still leading me in my life, in what I do and who I am. I have to let Him and yield to that leadership.
TO WALK WITH GOD IS LIVE BLAMELESS BEFORE THE WORLD
We walk with God, being blameless before the world, living perfectly above reproach – by the perfect one that lives His life in and through us. I could not and cannot walk alone, no Christian can and be like Enoch a type of the raptured church. Walk with Christ today, even if it is one step at a time, He wants to walk with you more than you realize!
Gen 5:24 “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.”
