THOUGHT OF THE DAY
HAPPINESS IN MEDITATION
Everyone wants to be happy! To be BLESSED by God is to be happy. The Psalmist David told us how in Psalms 1, and I love it; “Blessed [happy] is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” Be careful where you walk, who you walk with. Where do you find counsel, are you passive to the ways of sinners to be like them or enjoy the company of those that mock the things of righteousness.
WHAT DO YOU MEDITATE ON?
Find your delight in God’s Word. Meditate on it constantly. “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” This will do something wonderful; you will grow in strength, in the things that are good and right. You will bear the fruits of what God has called you to be as a person, mother, father, grandparent, student, etc. Your purpose will never become just a mundane task. “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Those that live without God’s knowledge in them, have no such hope. They become like worthless substance that is blown around by everything that comes along, being driven by the chaos of the world around them. “The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.” After this life is over, they will have no place to stand except as guilty and unrighteous before God. What little joy they have will be turned to sadness. “Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.”
THE LORD KNOWS ME WHEN OTHERS FORGET
The LORD knows the way of the righteous; He is with you through the good and the bad of life and will not forget you – that which is the LORD’S will never perish. “For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.”
I find many people who can’t understand
Why I am so happy and free;
I’ve been filled with the Spirit, there isn’t a doubt,
And that’s what’s the matter with me.
