What is Compassion? We need to know. Many believe it to be sympathy which only muddles things up. Some think it is doing good, helping others, and showing love to people in need. Especially at this season of the year. However, Jesus was the fountain of compassion, and did not heal everyone which he came in contact with. He did not save everyone that needed salvation.
Do not be mistaken, I believe strongly the Bible teaches us that it is God’s will to heal and to save. But Jesus could not heal or save everyone! Many could not or would not receive it. Jesus knew who would and who would not! John 5:19 “The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.”
It is those that could receive it and would receive it that he showed compassion, knowing it was the will of the Father. I repeat again, those that could receive His goodness, where the ones He would show compassion to.
How does that relate to me and you?
